Break it!
Break it!
A small pixel-art platformer built in Godot. This is my first game project — a test run to learn the engine end to end: player movement, enemies, saving, menus, and gluing it all into something you can actually play from start to finish. It's short and rough around the edges, but everything works and I'd love for you to give it a go.
What's in it
- Four handcrafted levels, linked together and looping back around when you finish.
- A level selector — jump straight to any level you've reached. Locked levels open up as you progress.
- Collect coins — each level tracks how many you've grabbed out of the total in the room (`n / N`).
- Beat your best time — a live timer runs on every attempt and each level remembers your fastest clear, so you can chase your own records.
- Stomp the slimes — hop on enemies to squish them, or dodge past.
- Dodge roll with limited charges for slipping through tight spots.
- Checkpoints so a death drops you back nearby instead of the start.
- Hearts / health, a death screen, and a quick restart.
- Pause menu and settings— volume sliders and a screen-shake toggle.
- Saves your progress automatically, including best times and unlocked levels.
- Keyboard and controller** both supported.
Controls

A note
This started as a learning project, so expect a few sharp corners. Feedback is hugely welcome — what felt good, what didn't, and where you got stuck all help me on the next one. Thanks for playing!
